A Light Wish

I saw a glow:

A glow of light.

A fleeting glow

An incredible sight.

It was a star

In many tales.

It was a meteor

Science tells.

It was fast,

It formed an arc.

The light it cast

Got rid of the dark.

I made a wish

And thus hoped.

As it went swish,

Possibilities roped.

Didn't come true,

I hoped it would.

As it bid adieu,

Frozen I stood.

I took a final view:

A cursory one.

Of the yellow-white hue,

And waited for the sun.

Up came the sun

In all its glory.

The darkness had to run,

Seemingly sorry.

Apollo cruised.

Ra hurtled across.

The radiance suffused.

Showed Apep who's boss.

As the-night-after grew,

I wished again.

The chances were one in two...

It did rain.
